Rider Spoke by Blast Theory combines theatre with game play and state of the art technology. You cycle through the streets of Bristol with a handheld computer on your handlebars. Prompted by a question, you look for a hiding place and record your answers there. You then search for the hiding places of others and listen to their answers.
As a Cycling City, Greater Bristol
is eager to explore new ways of
incorporating cycling into our lives with
the aim of getting lots more people
on their bikes. Rider Spoke has been
enthusiastically received in many
countries, and with Cycling City’s
support, is coming to Bristol following
critical acclaim at the Linz 2009
European Capital of Culture. Rider
Spoke will give Bristol the opportunity of
experiencing cycling as an art form.
Rider Spoke has been developed
by Blast Theory in collaboration with
the Mixed Reality Lab at University
of Nottingham and is sponsored by
Trek. Blast Theory is supported by Arts
Council England South East.
