The Mill
Ockham’s Razor

Ockham’s Razor, the critically acclaimed aerial theatre company who specialise in creating physical theatre on new pieces of aerial equipment, return with their new show The Mill.

Experience the sweat, grind and grit of physical work in a wheel of wood and steel which is powered by the 5 performers and suspended in the air. In The Mill a seemingly small decision or action can gather momentum and impetus beyond your control, snowballing until you find yourself running like mad to power the treadmill whilst someone else is riding it like a ferris wheel.

Anomie
Precarious

Award-winning physical theatre and multimedia performance company Precarious’s powerfully engaging new show is tipped to surpass the success of previous smash hits ‘The Factory’ and ‘Druthers’. Intense, provocative, delicate and comic, anomie is a hypnotic and surreal journey that traces the fractured pathways and phantom connections between six characters, all inhabiting the same apartment building, yet unaware of each others deviant behaviour.

The Invisible Circus Proudly Presents
Carny Ville All the Fun of the Unfair

It’s a one-way ticket to Pandemonia... Ride with us to the end of the line as the Invisible Circus present the last Carny Ville at The Island. All the fun of the unfair funfair, our grand finale will include more death-defying aerial feats, the impossible, the improbable and lashings of the downright ridiculous. Come and play. Expect the unexpected. The last run of the show in May saw over 1000 visitors a night attending with many having travelled from around the country to be a part of the furore which unbelievably takes place in the austere confines of the old Bridewell Island ex police, fire and law courts complex in Bristol city centre.

The Milkwood Rodeo is a performance installation inspired by holy men and Hollywood. Drawing from the diary entries and personal experience of the performers who have worked under the Indian big tops, memories and archived footage mix to create a portal where the bright lights of Broadway lead to the deserts of Rajasthan.

The Sugar Beast Circus Show is inspired by the ethnological menagerie shows of the 1800s, and the influence of Charles Darwin’s work upon entertainment. This is a show about the survival of the fittest in a contemporary climate, where performers are part animal, part skilled athlete and part gaudy showman.

Co-produced by Kate Hartoch for The Bristol Do in partnership with Bristol Old Vic.
